Benefit Auction Raises $3400 for St. Jude Children's Hospital
December 3, 2006 - On Sunday December 3rd The Vendors and Owners of Wurzel’s Fort Gratiot Flea Market in Fort Gratiot, Michigan along with the help of Auctioneers Joseph Phillips of Ridge Crest Liquidators and Auctioneers and Ed King of King Auction Company held a benefit auction that raised $3400 for the kids at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
For two months before the Auction, vendors, owners, employees and patrons of the Flea Market donated and solicited donated items from local businesses to be put up for Auction. The day of the Auction was enjoyed by 60 bidders that opened their hearts to help out the kids at St Jude.
Some highlights of the Auction were 1 ½ dozen eggs donated by Richard Sullivan that sold for $100, 4 Lions tickets for a New Years Eve game donated by Frank Loria that sold for $250 and 2 quilt sets donated by Vivian Hyslop totaled out at almost $250.
We would like to offer a special thanks to everyone who donated items for this great event and to all the buyers that came to offer their support. This Auction’s great success has convinced us to make this an annual event, so look for us again next year to have our 2nd Annual St. Jude Benefit Auction the first weekend in December.
